The first reflex is to be patient. Start by packing the garment in a plastic bag and place in freezer for one hour. Once frozen chewing gum, you will be much easier to remove it gently with the tip of a knife.

This is very easy and effective procedure for chewing gum removal and if chewing gum is badly stuck and some amount are still left on the cloth after the above procedure then apply the kerosene or petrol on the gummy part for an hour wash the cloth with the detergent powder to get rid of all the traces of gum.
